Activities Around Callahan Lake

Wikipedia states the following regarding Hayward:

"Hayward is home to the National Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame contained within the 200-foot-long tribute to the Musky. One can climb up into the mouth of the fish and look over the town, as well as Lake Hayward (during the Christmas season, Santa Claus can often be found peering over the town from the musky's mouth)."

Fishing:

In October of 1949 - Louie Spray caught the world record muskie on the nearby big brother of Callahan Lake, the Chippewa Flowage. 69 pounds, 11 ounces (Source Book: Three Record Muskies In His Days - The Life and Times of Louie Spray by John Dettloff)
